Delayed birthday present 遅れた誕生日プレゼント

Today I got my birthday present from the worker's union which delayed for about 20 days.

今日は組合から20日ほど遅れて誕生日のプレゼントをもらった。



When I hear 40, I always remember what Confucius　said;

"I decided to study at the age of 15, got independent at 30, at 40 I did not hesitate to do anything, at 50 I got to know the destiny, at 60 I follow what I heard, and at 70 I did not violate any rule by just following what I wanted."

40と聞けば、いつも孔子の言葉を思い出す。
「吾、１５にして学に志す。３０にして立つ。４０にして惑わず、５０にして天命を知る。６０にして耳にしたがう。７０にして心の欲するところに従って矩をこえず」

At the age of 40, I wanted to be someone who will never be confused by anything, will never lose temper and just stay calm, do promptly what is important without words. That was my wish to be when I was high school student. But surely I am still far from that...I want to be mentally much tougher so that nothing can confuse me. That was my new year's resolution.

高校時代、40になったら、どんなことにも動じず、かっとなったりせず、落ち着いて大切なことを黙々とこなす、そんな人間になっていたいと思っていた。でもまだまだ程遠い。何事にも負けない精神的なタフさが欲しい。今年の抱負。
