Lange Nacht der Museen 美術館の長い夜

This event, "musems's log night" has been held for many years and I joined for some times until now. Many museums are opened from 6 in the afternoon until 1 o'clock in the midnight, waiting visitors with lots of special events. There are also shuttle bus lines to connect each places within the city. Ticket costs 13 Euro including museum entrance fee and transportation (shuttlebus, public transportation) There is also another event "music's long night, there are lots of concerts held in churches and museums. My friend joined me this time, she had never tried the event before.

この催しは、もうずいぶん前から行われていて、これまでにも何度か参加したことがある。夕方６時から朝の１時までウィーン市内のたくさんの美術館、博物館がさまざまな企画を用意して観客を待っている。会場を繋ぐシャトルバスも運行され、登録されているすべての美術館、博物館への入場料と、シャトルバス、路面電車の運賃すべて込みで１３ユーロ。これとはまた別に音楽の長い夜というイベントもあり、教会や美術館のホールでコンサートが行われたりする。友達はこのイベントにまだ一度も参加したことがないらしく、今回同行することになった。

Before the long night, we ate at first. Yesterday I found chestnuts at supermarket and thought of cooking chestnut rice. From early in the morning I started peeling chestnuts. Every year when autumn comes my grandmother cooked chestnut rice and eventually asked me to help her peeling when I was at home.

長い夜を迎える前に腹ごしらえ。昨日スーパーで栗を見つけ、栗ご飯を作ろうと思い立った。朝早くから栗の皮むきを始める。家にいたころ、毎年秋になるとばあちゃんが栗ご飯を作ってくれた。それにたまに皮むきを手伝えと。



We examined the event guide and picked up some interesting ones for us. There are lots of concerts, too. This year, as I might have already written, is the 140th deplomatic year between Austrian-Hungary empire and Japan and there are lots of events in Austria. We went to see Geisha music show to one of the museums.

イベントガイドを読みながら、面白そうなものをいくつか選んでみた。コンサートもたくさんある。今年は、すでにブログにも書いたかもしれないが、オーストリー・ハンガリー帝国と日本の外交１４０周年で、オーストリア国内でいろんなイベントが開かれている。まずは芸者の演奏、歌が予定されていた美術館へ向かう。




The Geisha, Umekichi-san played shamisen and sang some songs like kaimono-boogie, so-ran bushi, tokyo ondo and etc. She prepared to introduce songs in German and spoke with memo. Her "instant" German was great and even much better than how my colleagues would speak in the office. LOL
We fortunately sat in the very front and in the middle, umekichi-san seemed to have recongnized me somehow as a Japanese or something else from the stage.

うめ吉ねえさんが三味線を弾き、買い物ブギ、ソーラン節に東京音頭を披露してくれた。彼女は曲紹介用にドイツ語のアンチョコを用意していたが、彼女の"即席"のドイツ語はすばらしかった。会社の同僚のドイツ語よりも数段よかった。 LOL
幸運にも我々は真ん中の一番前の席に陣取っていたので、うめ吉さんは舞台の上から日本人みたいなのがいると認識していた模様。



After listening to a piano concert in another museum, we went further to some museums, but we missed the opportunities; we were slightly late or there were so many people waiting. But it was very fun overall.

別の美術館でピアノのコンサートを聴いた後、その後何件かはしごするが、少し到着が遅かったり、たくさんお客さんが待っていたりで、その後は特に見るものはなかった。でもとても楽しい一日だった。
