最初に断っておかなければならないが、これはオーストリアの伝統的なクリスマスマーケットではない。東京が日本でないのと同様、ウィーンはオーストリアではない。たまにウィーンに行くが、シュタイヤーにいるよりもいろんな理由で居心地がいい。ウィーン市内では沢山のクリスマスマーケットがあるが、一番有名なのは文句なく市庁舎前のものだろう。

This is Advent calender. The Advent starts from 4 weeks before Christmas, each day they open the window of the matching number of the day. (or counting down)As I mentioned above, this is the multi-national version of Christmas market and there are some huts where products from Hungary or Czech are sold, too. And German can seldom be heard, many people are speaking Hungarian, Czech or Russian and Englisch when they buy something.
これはアドベントカレンダーと呼ばれるもの。アドベントはクリスマスの４週間前から始まる節句のようなもので、毎日その日にあたる窓を開けていく。上でも触れたように、ウィーンのクリスマスマーケットはいろんな国のものが混ざっている。ハンガリーやチェコの物が売られていたりもする。ドイツ語がなかなか聞こえず、ハンガリー語、チェコ語とロシア語が飛び交い、モノを買う際には英語で対応している。

The main aim to visit Christmas market is usually to have punsh (warm alcohol drink with fruit and herbs), or Gluehwein, warm read wine with some brandy (there is also a white wine version sometimes) with suger and etc. When it is cold outside, it is really nice!クリスマスマーケットに行く大抵の目的は、プンシュと呼ばれる果物やハーブが入ったアルコール飲料や、グリューワインと呼ばれる赤ワインを暖めて砂糖やブランデーを混ぜたものを飲むこと。寒いときにはこれが一番。
