Octoberfest オクトーバーフェスト

Not only in Munich, there are lots of local Octoberfests. They order beer by 1 litter glass and eat pretzel and white sausage. There is a special music for this festival and then they dance to the music.

ミュンヘンだけではなく、地方でもオクトーバーフェストは多数あります。一リットルのグラスでオーダーするビールに、プレッツェルと白ソーセージ。音楽もそれ用のものがあり、みんな音楽に合わせて踊ります。オーストリアには所謂民族衣装があり、結婚式、パーティーなどで着る人が多くみられます。男性の衣装をトラッハテン、女性の衣装をディルンドゥルと呼びます。
 
In Austria they have their tradittional costume, they would put it on at a wedding ceremony or at a party. Man's wear is called Trachten, women's wear is called Dirndl. I have lived in Austria already 12 years, I started to think that I would buy one. The owner of nearby bar told me that they are going to have Octoberfest, I thought it a nice opportunity to procure some. Trachten consists of leather pants, a checkerd shirt, a hut with feather.


オーストリアにももう１２年目。そろそろ揃えてもいいころだと思っていたところで、近所のバーでオクトーバーフェストをするというので、いい機会だと思って揃えてみました。トラッハテンは革パンツにチェック柄のシャツ。そして帽子には羽がついているもので一揃え。


Some of the regular guests and the owner were in Dirndl. Nobody thought that I would come in Trachten, many other guests took my pictures. It is fun sometimes to escape from reality.


数人の常連客と店のオーナーが衣装を着ていました。僕がこんな衣装を着て来るとは誰も思っていなかったようで、みんなから写真を撮られました。たまにはこういう現実逃避も楽しいものです。

I found it in yesterday's free street paper. I was not aware that it was only 200km from Tokyo.

昨日の無料街頭新聞に記事が出ていました。東京から２００kmしか離れていないんだと初めて気がつきました。

We won the vice champion 2014 2014年 リーグ準優勝しました

This year, out team won the preliminary league at the first place and then the second place at final 4 match out of two leaders from both Landesliga East A and B groups with the result 2 win and 1 lost.

今年度、ランデスリーグ東地区のA、Bグループ各６チームづつの予選リーグを首位で通過して、各グループの上位２チームづつの４チームで行われた総当たり戦を２勝１敗として、２０１４年のリーグ準優勝を果たしました。

Now let me explain a little about baseball in Austria.
They started to play baseball after the settlement of American army after the War. After the American army retreated from Austria in 1955, playing the baseball became less and less popular. However, from 80s it started again and there were three baseball teams registered in Vienna.

Austrian Baseball League (ABL) is the professional baseball league in Austria and it was established in 1983 as one of subdivisions of Condereration of European Baseball (CEB) and as the united baseball and softball federation. As of 2014, there are six teams in the first league, and in the league beneath (Bundesliga) there are also six teams.

There are two more leagues, the third and the fourth league. The third (regional league) consists of Central, East and West, there are 16 teams in total. The fourth (Landesliga) consists of EastA, EastB, Tirol and Upper Austria, there are 19 teams all together. Beside these, there are leagues for youngstars such as U18 or U15.

ここで、オーストリアの野球について少し説明をしたいと思います。オーストリアで野球が始まったのは、戦後アメリカ軍の駐留以降のことで、１９５５年のアメリカ軍撤退後は一時的に廃れていったものの、１９８０年代頃からまた始められ、当時ウィーンにも3チームが登録されています。

オーストリアン・ベースボール・リーグ（英語: Austrian Baseball League, ABL）はオーストリアのプロ野球リーグで、１９８３年にヨーロッパ野球連盟（CEB）のオーストリア支部として、オーストリア野球、ソフトボール連盟として発足。2014年現在一部リーグには6チーム、その下部の2部リーグ（ブンデスリーガ）には6チームが登録されています。

更にその下には3部リーグと4部リーグがあり、3部リーグ（地域リーグ）はその中で中地区、東地区と西地区に分かれており、全16チーム。4部リーグ（ランデスリーグ）は東地区A、東地区B、チロル、アッパーオーストリアと分かれており、全19チームが登録されています。この他、若手養成のためのU18、U15などの年齢別のリーグがあります。

Our team won the champion in 2011 in the Regional League East, after then many of members returned to Japan after their settlement due to their business, we were at the last in the league last year. The games in the league will be carried out doubleheader all the time, it is hard to play without having at least two pitchers.

2011年には地域リーグ東ブロックで優勝しました。その後転勤でこちらに来ていた人たちが日本に帰国、昨年はリーグで最下位になりました。地域リーグは毎回のダブルヘッダーでの試合形式のため、ピッチャーが2人以上いないと試合になりません。

This year, we decided to play in the lower league and tried to find new members. It is already certain that three of our current members will be returning to Japan this year, we will still have problem to play in the next season. I am happy any way to win the vice champion title from our current circumstance.

今年はリーグを下げて、新しいメンバーを集めることにしました。現状のメンバーの3人が日本に帰国することが決まっていますので、来年も人集めに苦労するのは間違いありませんが、こういう状態で望んだシーズンで準優勝できたことはほっとしています。

I was tired before the game 試合前に疲れました

On the way to ballpark, it started to rain terribly. This season, we had problem with rain, my first thought was that we have to cancel the game. Arriving at the ball park, I saw many huge ponds on the ground.

野球場へ向かう途中で、とんでもないくらいの雨が降ってきた。今シーズンは雨にずいぶん泣かされた。今日も中止しなけりゃダメなのか、そう思った。球場に着いてみると、大きな池になっている。

The weather forcast said that it will be raining from 17:00. The game would be starting from 16:00. So there was no sign that the weather will be getting better. I almost called the manager of the team that we have to cancel the game. The rain almost stopped, some of my teammantes said, maybe we can at least try to play. The team will come all the way from Schrems for more than two hours by car.

天気予報は夕方5時から降水確率60%。試合は16時開始予定。今後雨がよくなる予報ではない。相手チームに試合中止の連絡をするところだったが、雨も止んでいて、少し水を何とかしてみようとみんながスポンジ、トンボを持ってきて水をかき始めた。相手チームは2時間以上かけてやって来てくれるんだからと。

The game? We won by 9 to 2.

試合ですか？9対２で勝ちました。うれしい一勝でした。

The first match against the team in the first place 首位攻防戦

Our baseball team keeps the second place with one lost and finally we were playing two consecutive games against the team in the first place, Schemser Beers. We are somehow similar to many points; many of them are as old as we are, little young players. They also experienced games in upper league as we did, but play in the lower league because of their problem to gather players, exactly as same as ours.

うちの野球チームは一敗で今のところ2位に付けている。今シーズン初めて首位のシュレムサー＝ビヤーズとの２連戦を迎える。このチームは他のチームとは少しばかり違い、我々と似たような境遇にある。若い選手が少なく、年齢構成が似ていること。上位リーグでの経験もあるが、選手を集めるのに難があり、そのために下位リーグでプレーしていることなど。

They won consecutive 8 games (all cold games), two more left. Our team, Team Japan won five games and lost one. To proceed to final four match, we have to keep the second place any way. The third team already lost 4 games and we are safe.

彼らはこれまで8線全勝（全戦コールド勝ち）で残り2試合。我々のチームジャパンは5勝１敗。ファイナルフォーに進むためには2位で通過しなくてはいけない。  ３位のチームが既に4敗しているので安全ではある。
 
Beside this, we were waiting for the game against Beers, we were longing for a serious and exciting match. They have 5 batters with batting average of this season above 0.50.

それは別の問題として、ビヤーズとの対戦はみんな待ちに待ったものだ。興奮するようなゲームがしたいからだ。今季の打率が5割以上のバッターが5人もいる。


The league we are now playing is called LLO, Landes Liga Ost (national league east) which is the lowest baseball league in Austria Baseball League, is divided into two groups; Group A for the teams that allow double-headers to be able to play more games, and Group B for those who dont. Final hour is the cross match of the upper two teams from both groups to decide the league champion.

今年参加しているLLO（ナショナルリーグ東）というのは、オーストリア野球リーグの最下位リーグで、AとBの2つのグループに分かれている。グループAの、毎回ダブルヘッダーをこなして、より多くの試合を消化したいチームと、それができないグループB。ファイナルフォーでは両グループの上位2チームが総当たりをして、リーグのチャンピオンを決めることになっている。

The game will be held tomorrow and on the next Sunday. I will be back to Japan for 10 days, I will miss the game on next Sunday. But I wish that we will be able to win at least one game against Beers. This year, I have been somehow good at batting as unusual. Let me swing the bat for tomorrow to wish for a hit at a chance.

試合は明日と来週の日曜日。10日ほど帰国するので来週の日曜日の試合には出られないが、ビヤーズ相手に最低でも１勝したいところだ。今シーズンはどういうわけか例年になくバッティングの調子がいい。明日得点のチャンスでヒットが出るように、素振りでも。

BBQ season also started バーベキューシーズン開幕

It is still bit cold early in the morning or late, sun started come up more often. My friend called for BBQ, the first ime of this year.  The weather forcast was rain, but it was very fine. We were happy to be in a grill place in 16th district.

早朝や夜は未だに肌寒く感じるが、日中は強い日差しが照るようになってきた。友人が今年最初のBBQの案内を送ってきた。 雨の予報にもかかわらず天候は晴れ。みんな大喜びで16区のグリススペースへ。

Suddenly, it started to rain very strongly and with hail!! It continued for about 15 minutes.

突然大雨が降ってきた。しかも雹混じりで！！15分ほど降り続く。

Some people went home because of the rain. After it stopped raining, I cooked just a small portion of sukiyaki and I took ingredients back home.
